Today my husband and I went to a museum…yada, yada, yada…let’s skip ahead to the important part—lunch. We visited a local eatery that specializes in baked potatoes. Now, a baked potato restaurant might not sound that interesting to the average person, but to a fat girl that has recently adopted a far healthier lifestyle, an awesome baked potato is pretty much the equivalent of heaven in my book. The super crispy skin, the variety of toppings (I chose black beans, corn, and mango if your were wondering), and well, pretty much everything about it made my day fairly amazing. The carb overload also numbed the pain of completing my most dreaded task—the grocery store. While at the grocery store, I think I got one step closer to becoming an adult. I forgot about a coupon while in the checkout line and actually went to the customer service desk to get a whopping 55 cents. In hindsight, that might have been a step in the direction of becoming my grandmother. Oh well, I will eventually figure this stuff out.

Well, I feel like I should start things off by telling you a little bit about me. I am married woman living on the East Coast. I actually still find it hard to call myself a woman, because in my mind I still see myself as a kid. I actually prefer referring to myself as a girl. The sad news here is that this girl is 29 years old and I have a mere 300 days to grow up. Come November 25th, I will be 30 years old and, even if it isn’t the reality of the situation, it seems like the big 3-0 is the last step on my path into adulthood. So, I have decided to chronicle these last days of the third decade of my existence and by doing so, I really hope I try some new things, do a little good, and at least acquire a taste for wine (I am pretty sure enjoying wine is a prerequisite for being a grown up). The countdown begins; wish me luck.
